Our Vision
We work to help educators gain a deeper understanding of issues around female representation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) so that they can be more inclusive in encouraging female students' interest in science.
Our Mission
Parité science aims to increase the representation of women in STEM by providing training and tools to the teaching community.
By raising awareness for secondary and post-secondary teachers, Parité sciences aims to change the climate of classrooms to be more inclusive for people who do not identify with the scientist stereotype.
Our Values
INSPIRATION
We believe that passionate teachers inspire students. By encouraging teachers to talk about easily accessible, modern-day female scientists and their important work, more young women will feel inspired to pursue a university education in STEM.
EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION
In the context of current government strategies in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), we encourage education professionals to learn about the ethical and societal issues of the representation of young women in STEM fields.
AWARENESS
The teaching community plays a key role in creating the concept of what scientists look like. Thus, Parité sciences offers free training, seminars, strategies, and educational tools to support educators in changing the narrative around science careers.
PARITY IN STEM
By working to increase representation of scientists in the classroom, we contribute to the diversification of the next generation of scientists. We play a key role in expanding the pool of talent and perspectives in STEM, thereby creating opportunities for more innovations and solutions to address social issues.
" As scientists, we experience the consequences of under-representation on a daily basis. That's why we founded Parité sciences—to positively transform the scientific community. To this end, the college and high school environment plays a decisive role in inspiring and encouraging female students to pursue studies and careers in STEM. In a context where technology is constantly evolving, together we must participate in a fairer and therefore more prosperous society."
